Beauty & The Beast - BIO

Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme - but how old is rhyme? Just one of the many questions stirred up by the dynamic duo composed of longtime friends Holmar the Acid Tourist and Get Physical co-founder Philipp Jung: Beauty and the Beast. A supergroup for the ages, their rare performances have been known to inspire true love. At the very least, the real-life fairy tale is a poignant commentary on the duality of human existence, the light and darkness that lies within us all. Individually, both artists have garnered a faithful international following through their solo projects as well as their former groups, Philipp Jung of M.A.N.D.Y and Holmar of Thugfucker. United, they might be the world’s best shot at saving this fucked up beautiful mess.

A once-revered, now-disgraced spiritual guru once proclaimed: “Experience all the dualities. Don't be afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the more beautiful you become. Until you are like the Marilyn Monroe or Grace Jones of experience, and then you transcend beyond the mere illusion of our false reality.” Think of a set by Beauty and the Beast as one step closer to this ultimate plane of existence.

A BENEFIT FOR NIGHTLIFE RELIEF FUND Seattle's Nightlife Relief Fund is a community-built support network for professionals in the nightlife, music and arts industry. We’re committed to the safety, security and wellbeing of bartenders, security personnel, performers and dancers alike. As an alliance that aims to ultimately impact legislation, we’re a shelter of resources and a foundation for fundraising efforts to help navigate life’s surprising turns.

Since the start of the pandemic, Nightlife Relief Fund has provided direct financial assistance to employees of Kremwerk, Rebar, Monkey Loft, Train Car, and others, including DJs, door staff, security staff, bar staff, and others who work very hard to make our favorite venues safe spaces for all of us, where we can gather and dance and enjoy the music we love.
